Correx Placards with Sticks

We print and produce placard signs with sticks attached. Placards are usually used for protest marches or local street advertising (for example arrows pointing to your shop or business) or any kind of ‘walking street signage’.

Our placard boards as standard are made of 4mm corrugated plastic boards (correx). Correx boards are lightweight, strong and cheap at the same time making it an ideal material for the purpose of placard boards.

You can choose to have a single or double sided version printed.  We also offer two lengths of the sticks depending on your preference. Shorter placard sticks are better for holding the sign in the air while walking, longer sticks are long enough to put them on the ground. The latter may be a more comfortable option when there is not much need for carrying the placard and therefore a more preferable option for street advertising and standing protests. You can also lean on the stick while walking for better comfort.

Protest Placard Boards Printing

Some of most common uses of placard boards are all kinds of pickets, demonstrations, protests and strike actions organised by workers or labour unions (trade unions). Being very lightweight, Correx demonstration placards are ideal for marching longer distances and, as mentioned above, you can have two different lengths of the sticks to suite your requirements. Also, our picketing boards/posters can be tailor-made in case you have any special requirements regarding size or shape.

You Specify the Design and Size

We print full colour directly on correx boards with UV long lasting inks. This means there is no extra charge for more colours and you can even have photographs printed for the same price.

If you need a different shape of the board, we are able to produce custom sized boards. Our routing machines can cut signs to any shape so all kinds of shapes like ovals, stars or arrows are possible.

Placards for Charity Organisations

So far we have printed many thousands of charity placards for several charity and non-profit organisations. Those organisations include some of the biggest British names but also many smaller charity groups that want to raise awareness of their good cause with picketing march placards. We offer excellent placard prices (see prices tab) but please send us your enquiry with size and quantity to see if we can offer you even better discounted prices for your charity campaign.

Political campaign placards and signs

The World is changing very fast and along with the change so are the issues people, organisations or political parties need to raise awareness of. Street marches, political conferences and meetings are the best places to get noticed to gain public support and media coverage. The more professional the events are the more potential media attention they will attract. Therefor professional, unified and large in numbers signage is so important. Banners and placards are among the essential items required for a successful political campaign. We have printed banners, signs and placards for many major and smaller organisations so please feel free to submit your enquiry or give us a call to talk about your requirements.

How to make a placard?

What is a placard? For us a placard is never just a separate board or poster. Our definition of a placard is a rigid light-weight printed board with a stick attached to the back for carrying advertising or protest purposes. In the case of double sided boards the stick sits in between two layers of the board material.

So going back to our question of 'How to make a placard'; to make a placard you need to have a rigid material either printed direct (as we do) or with mounted poster or self adhesive vinyl sticker laid on. These days the easiest solution is to find large format printers like ourselves to print the boards direct. This is currently the most cost effective and quickest process of printing (regardless whether it's single of full colour image). The old-fashioned traditional way (by applying separate print to the board) could be much more time consuming and could be difficult for an inexperienced person.

Once we have our printed image we just need to attach a stick. We pick relatively thin piece of wood so it is not too heavy in case we carry the placard for a long time or when we have to attach relatively big board. We can attach the board to the stick using strong glue, double sided adhesive tape, a stapler or nails, depending on required strength. It will again depend on how big and heavy is the attached board. We print our placards on 4mm corrugated plastic (thinner version of the estate agents signs) so it is a really light placard material but rigid and water proof at the same time, making correx ideal solution for picketing or mobile advertising signs.

Are your placards delivered assembled with sticks?

Yes, all our placards are delivered with sticks so that they are ready to use just out of the box.

What material do you use to print the placards?

We make use of strong 4mm thick Correx.

Are your placards meant to be used for multiple number of times or are they of “use and throw” type?

Our placards are highly durable and they can be used for multiple number of times. Moreover, we use high quality UV inks and the printing does not fade with time.

Do you charge any special price for printing photographs on the placards?

No. We offer full colour printing service. You can get just about anything including photographs printed on the placards at the same price.

Where are your placards printed and produced?

We are based in Whitefield near Manchester so the placards are printed and put together hear and can be send to any UK location using next day service.

What is correx?

Correx is actually a brand name of corrugated plastic material, also known as polypropylene fluted board. The material is most widely used for estate agent signs and quick, durable outdoor signage.

Are correx boards suitable for outdoor and indoor use?

Yes. It's usually used for outdoor use but can also be used inside.

How do I submit my artwork files?

Please use the ‘Send Artwork and Order’ TAB to attach your artwork and type any extra information like your address or special requirements.

You can also simply use our email address (at the top of the website) and attach your files. In case you have any problems with sending large files you can contact us or use file sharing services like WeTransfer.com

What are requirements for artwork files?

Preferable file format is PDF or high quality JPG. If you are supplying artwork ready to print please make sure the design files meet all general standard printing requirements like:

  • Files must be to scale (100% size) or at least in proportion (half size, quarter size etc.)
  • CMYK colour mode (no RGB or Pantone colours as it can cause problems)
  • All text must be converted to curves/outlined or at least embedded inside supplied pdf
  • There is no need for extra bleeds and crop marks for simple rectangular signs
  • Please include cutpath for cut out boards indicating expected board shape OR simply describe where it should be and we will draw the shape for you in most cases free of charge.

In case you require and design work or are uncertain about the files you have please just attach your files with description in your message. We will help and advise. If there would be any extra charge involved we will let you know before proceeding with any changes.

Why are your printed correx boards are so cheap?

Corrugated plastic material is not expensive. It is light and easy to cut, reducing the cost of delivery and labour. We print direct on correx boards instead of using digital vinyl printed and mounted onto boards. The latter method is old fashioned, expesnive and time consuming.

If it's ideal material why do people use more expensive materials?

Correx is very light and although it is durable it is not as hard as foamex or aluminium. Also, Foamex or Foam Core material may be more suitable for high profile indoor purposes like exhibitions because it has a smoother finish than corrugated correx. Please visit our foamex printing website if you need more heavy duty or exhibition panels printed.
